- Work in small agile teams
- Help define and build high-performance, high-availability web infrastructure
- Work with business, quality, product and technical teams
- Create and contribute to open source projects while you work on high traffic and scalability problems
Qualifications
- 6+ years experience in Web development
- Solid understanding of scalable and performant web architectures.
- Extensive experience with PHP, Java and Python (C and Erlang desirable).
- Knowledge of non relational database architectures e.g. Cassandra, HBase, Hypertable, Dynomite. Did you read the BigTable paper?
- Experience with caching strategies (Memcache etc), SOA, Thrift, REST, Hadoop & "messaging with RabbitMQ".
- Agile, test-driven development experience desirable (XP/Scrum).
- Bachelors degree or higher in Computer Science or similar/relevant field preferred
