Senior Product and Marketing Analyst

Analytics is a core business function at Playfish and is responsible for driving daily insights directly into our games. The team works with all business functions including Product, Marketing, the Executive Team, Platform and Payments.
We are seeking a world class analytics rock star to join the team as a Senior Product and Marketing Analyst. If you have a track record for turning big data into needle-moving insights that drive the business, this is the role for you.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
• Use superb data mining, analytics and business judgment to identify, prioritize, structure and solve complex business problems.
• Work closely with game studios, product, marketing, business development and the executive team to drive insights and execution that deliver better games and delighted players.
• Be the expert at extracting and analyzing very large, complex, multi-dimensional datasets using a variety of tools.
• Provide reporting, performance monitoring and insights via dashboards, scorecards and ad hoc analysis.
• Manage multiple high visibility projects at a time in a fast-paced, intense, results-oriented environment.

• Ability to see the "big picture," quickly evaluate the business impact of issues and prioritize among many competing asks.
• Proven interpersonal, communication and presentation skills – must be able to turn complex concepts into actionable business recommendations and communicate these to a wide audience.
• True passion for understanding consumer’s social gaming behavior and converting insight into action.
Specific skills and experience
• Experience analyzing very large, complex, multi-dimensional data sets.
• Highly proficient with SQL. Should be able to automate repetitive parts of data analysis with ease.
• Excel modeling (e.g. pivot tables, advance functions, statistics, signal filtering, Visual Basic, etc.), good Powerpoint skills and experience with Microstrategy or similar reporting tools required. Other statistical programs and data mining software are a plus.
• Knowledge of statistics (e.g., multivariate regression, predictive modeling, controlled test design) a strong plus.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concept/tools sufficient to work effectively with engineering partners.
• Some experience directing quantitative user research a plus.
Education / work experience requirements:
• BS (MBA or other Masters degree preferred) in a quantitative discipline.
• 3+ years in product or marketing analytics in a top-tier consumer-focused company (ideally, gaming or web).
• Good client management skills with a strong grasp of both technical and business perspectives.
• 2+ years experience in top-tier consulting firm, venture capital, or investment banking a plus.
