                                                          SENIOR DECISION SUPPORT ANALYST

POSITION SUMMARY

This position will work closely with business partners to gain an understanding of their business needs, provide advice on their reporting needs and develop quality reporting solutions and analysis to support effective decisionmaking. In this role, you will identify "early warning signals" through analytics and also support the development and maintenance of our reporting applications and data marts. The primary focus of this position will be to improve the quality and content of reports produced by the sales administration area for the sales organization and for First Investors' parent company.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work closely with business partners to develop and maintain accurate, reliable and timely dashboards/reports that support assessment of business performance. Effectively communicate and present information to consumers of information, including senior management , in a manner that is easily accessible, timely, reliable and efficient. Research trends in the financial services industry and conduct analysis to provide insights and conclusions that drive business decisions. Manage relationship with 3rd party vendor and ensure quality control of standardized report productions. Respond in a timely fashion to requests for ad hoc analysis and information, provide analytical insights and recommendations to support decisionmaking. Support the development and institution of data governance and quality control measures.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS

Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics or other quantitative discipline is preferred (not required)

EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND REQUIREMENTS

Strong business acumen, problem solving and analytical skills to break down complex business concepts into valuable insights. Able to perform analysis to identify "early warning signals" and facilitate problem resolution. Excellent communication skills (both written and oral), organizational, results orientation, planning and time management skills to meet deadlines and handle changing priorities with high attention to detail. 5 or more years experience with decision support responsibilities. Strategic thinker with advanced stakeholder and relationship management skills; be seen as a credible partner managing to agreed upon objectives and expectations. Excellent research, program evaluation and quantitative skills, as well as excellent judgement to explore all potential outcomes and solution sets is essential. Experience gathering and documenting business requirements and designing dashboards/reports to meet business needs.  Proficient in MS Access, Outlook, Excel, Powerpoint and Word.
