Manager, Customer Insights & Research (Contractor)

The Manager, Customer Insights & Research will spearhead our ambitious consumer insights program and be responsible for managing all primary research needs for PlayFish. Understanding our customers is a core business function at Playfish. Reporting to the Head of Analytics and Strategy, you will work with all business functions including Marketing, Game Studios, the Executive Team, Platform and Payments.

Responsibilities
• Define, prioritize and manage all market research activities
• Coordinate input from marketing, game studios, and the executive team to translate business questions into appropriate research projects.
• Meet with clients to assist them in defining project goals and deliverables.
• Recommend and drive appropriate quantitative and qualitative methodologies .
• Design, field and analyze online customer surveys
• Coordinate vendor selection and oversee all aspects of work conducted by third party quantitative and qualitative vendors to ensure timeliness, accuracy, and quality of work products.
• Present research findings to all levels of the organization

Requirements
• BS/BA required, ideally with market research related course study (statistics, psychology, market research)
• Minimum of 4 years experience driving complex research agendas and actionable outcomes for a top consumer-oriented firm.
• Proven ability to think strategically and deliver studies that have high business impact from high integrity, “mece” data.
• “Ownership mentality” that combines a willingness to drive deliverables personally with the capability to manage a variety of vendors effectively within tight timelines and defined budgets.
• A background in research of video games, social networking, online audiences or interactive entertainment is highly desirable
• Proficiency and flexibility in the use of quantitative and qualitative market research techniques including: conjoint / discrete choice, online surveys, on-site user research, competitive research.
• Experience with focus group moderation
• Experience with statistics (SPSS, SAS) a plus.
• Exceptional body of work demonstrating expertise in analyzing data and translating it into executive-ready presentations.
• Strong project management skills and ability to work on several projects simultaneously.
