PRINCIPAL FLASH/FLEX ENGINEER

As the Principal Flash/Flex Engineer in our core engineering team, you will play a key role in the definition, design, and implementation of our platform, websites, and e-Commerce business applications. You will be part of a passionate, high-energy team creating compelling new and innovative online paradigms.

The ideal candidate must be extremely proficient and demonstrate a track record in leading the design, development, and production of modern high-traffic and high-volume websites.

Working in a demanding, agile environment, you will collaborate daily with product and project managers, creative and user experience designers, architects, and peer software and production engineers.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Contribute new and unique ideas to the UI design of a Rich Internet Application
  • Create standards-compliant, cross-browser-compatible representations of visual designs with pixel-level accuracy and attention to detail
  • Work with User Experience and Engineering teams to define, maintain, implement, and enforce style guides, standards, reusable templates, and best practices for client-side coding
  • Monitor best practices, trends and new technologies and evaluate for possible adoption
  • Assist development teams with client-side coding and bug fixing as needed
  • Work closely with other Web Developers, Flex Developers, QA, product management and creative/user experience teams to resolve problems
  • Mentor other mid-level Web Developers on RIA best practices and other matters as required 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7 + years experience in web application development using the Adobe Flash/Flex technologies
  • Advanced sense of user experience when creating features and widgets
  • Must have experience with consumer facing websites rich in content and real-time, like AJAX, JavaScript, JQuery, JSON interaction
  • 7+ years with JavaScript and AJAX
  • Advanced knowledge and experience in JavaScript, DHTML, CSS and XML or JSON
  • Experience with RESTful Web Services
  • Understanding of web caching techniques
  • Creative UI design and strong sense of usability
  • Experience with e-commerce solutions and PCI compliance
  • Experience with troubleshooting JavaScript performance
  • Proven track record of identifying and championing new technologies that enhance the end-user experience, software quality, and developer productivity
  • Strong skills in supporting CSS across major browsers
  • Strong skills with semantic XHTML
  • Strong experience in one or more MVC architectures
  • BS in Engineering, IT, or Computer Science or equivalent required (MS preferred)
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer
