The Digital Division of Gannett Co., Inc. located in Tysons Corner, VA is seeking a General Manager for its MomsLikeMe site.

 

The position is ultimately responsible for meeting (MLM) audience and profit goals, as well as execution of sales initiatives. Sets regular product goals and updates senior management regularly on performance.  Manages MLM business plans and has organizational visibility needed to execute the plans across the company’s media properties.  This position reports to the VP/GM Gannett Digital Media Network.

 

  • Builds and manages a high-performance MLM team, including MLM operations manager and MLM non-Gannett affiliate manager.
  • Serves as MLM product champion among all appropriate Gannett businesses, including USA TODAY, local newspapers and TV stations.
  • Fosters collaboration with national sales and local markets, making sure products are continually improved to best meet customer needs.
  • Works closely with business development to evaluate, prioritize and develop partnership agreements.
  • Approves all changes to strategy related to MLM content, sales, marketing, partnerships and development.
  • Works with the business analysis team on establishing and measuring key performance indicators for MLM.
  • Direct the day-to-day activities of the operations.
  • Achieve NIBT through revenue growth and expense control.
Requirements

·          Minimum five years supervisory/management experience in media or communications, preferably with profit/loss responsibility.

·          Five to seven years digital media product management experience, preferably in social, news, entertainment or local information product categories.

·          Bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing, communications, journalism or related field.

·          Public speaking experience or training preferred.

·          Proficiency in MS Office required.

·          Must be highly conversant in Digital media.
